Ah, yes.... It wasn't that long ago -- October 10th, 2002, I think -- that Barry, Mark and I (Jeremy) went to the "Big Smoke Detroit" at the Detroit Marriott in the beautiful Ren-Cen. It was on the way back from the event, each with a bag full of premium hand-made cigars in hand, the taste of good Scotch on our lips, and the flavor of those wonderful cigars on our minds, that we decided to not wait until the next Big Smoke to get together. Mark decried the winter cabin-fever, and the need to have a warm (not out on the deck in a Michigan winter) place to gather with friends (and strangers!) and enjoy the good stuff: premium food, premium liquor, and premium cigars. It was Barry that swore he would kick such a thing in gear -- and kick it, he did. He immediately started surveying the local area for cigar-friendly places, and emailing our friends and co-workers to see who might be interested in getting together with us. Now, with a couple gatherings under our belts, we're on a roll and loving it. The same core few show up each time, but it's always interesting to find out who else, if anyone, will join us next time. And yes, you are welcome. Just bring your favorite premium cigar, a few bucks for food and drinks, and your conversation.
